Lieutenant Colonel Jason S. Guello Executive Officer, MATSG-23
  • LtCol Guello graduated from Northrop University and Southern Illinois University receiving an Airframe and Powerplants license and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aviation Management. Before graduation LtCol Guello worked in general aviation and as a “blue shirt” on the C-12 program at MCAS El Toro California until receiving his commission in August, 1994. 

  • Following completion of The Basic School (TBS) and the Aviation Supply Basic Qualification Course (BQC) LtCol Guello reported to the Marine Aviation Logistic Support Element Kaneohe (MALSEK) 24 at Kaneohe Bay Hawaii. Departing Hawaii in 2001, he then served as the logistics liaison to the Saudi Arabian Marine Corps. After Saudi, LtCol Guello reported to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron (MALS) 14 and served as the Aviation Information Systems Division (AISD) OIC and upon selection to Major, transferred to MALS 29 to serve as the Aviation Supply Officer in 2003.

  • In June of 2006 LtCol Guello left MALS 29 for Maxwell Air Force Base Alabama for the Air Command and Staff College (ACSC) and the School of Advanced Air and Space Studies (SAASS).  Upon graduation from SAASS, LtCol Guello received orders to Marine Forces Korea (MARFORK) and was assigned to the G-5 Plans section as the lead MAGTF planner and later as the Assistant Chief of Staff (AC/S) G-5.   

  • In June of 2011 LtCol Guello reported to 3d MAW ALD and in 2012 deployed in support of OEF as the AC/S Aviation Logistics Department (ALD) for six months and then as the Commanding Officer of MALS 16 (FWD) for another seven months.  LtCol Guello returned to 3d MAW in 2013 and served as the Deputy AC/S ALD and the 3d MAW Aviation Supply Officer.  In June 2014 he deployed with the Marine Expeditionary Brigade Afghanistan (MEB-A) as the Inspector General.

  • LtCol Guello assumed command of MALS 39 on 21 May 2015 and relinquished command on 23 May 2017. After command he was assigned to 1st Marine Logistics Group, G-3 Plans section.

  • In July, 2018 LtCol Guello assumed the duties of Executive Officer of Marine Aviation Training Support Group (MATSG-23). 

  • His personal decorations include the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal (gold star in lieu of third award), Joint Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal and Combat Action Ribbon.
