CWO4 Jack K. Davis Commanding Officer, Marine Detachment Naval School of Music

CWO4 Davis enlisted in the Marine Corps in October of 1995, and underwent Recruit Training at 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, SC. He then reported for Marine Combat Training at Camp Geiger, NC. In January of 1996, CWO4 Davis reported to the 2d Marine Division Band, Camp Lejeune, NC. 

In May of 2000, CWO4 Davis was re-assigned to the Albany Marine Band, Marine Corps Logistics Base, Albany, GA. As a Sergeant, he served as Fire Team Leader, Squad Leader and Platoon Sergeant. In October of 2003, he was promoted to Staff Sergeant and his duties included Operations Chief, Assistant Enlisted Conductor, and Enlisted Conductor. CWO4 Davis participated in the Edinburgh Military Tattoo,  Edinburgh, Scotland in July of 2002 as well as the Festival International de Musiques Militaires de Quebec in 2002 and 2004. He also participated in the Ottawa Fortissimo in 2004.

In April of 2005, Staff Sergeant Davis was assigned to the Armed Forces School of Music in Norfolk, Virginia to attend the Unit Leader’s Course. Upon graduation of the course, Staff Sergeant Davis returned to the Albany Marine Band and held the billet of Enlisted Conductor. In September of 2006, Staff Sergeant Davis was selected for Warrant Officer and reported to The Basic School the following January. Upon graduation, he was assigned to Marine Band San Diego as the Band Officer starting in June of 2007.

In August of 2011, Chief Warrant Officer 3 Davis reported to 3d Marine Aircraft Wing Band in Miramar, CA, as the Band Officer, and in March of 2013, he reported to his current duty station, 2d Marine Division Band, Camp Lejeune, NC. In 2014 CWO3 Davis led 50 Marines to Belleau France to participate in the Belleau Wood Memorial Ceremony and then continued on to Great Britain to participate in the 350th Anniversary of the British Royal Marines. In attendance were the Commandant and SgtMaj of the Marine Corps, Queen Elizabeth, Prince Phillip and various U.S. and European Generals and officials. CWO3 Davis led the unit back to Belleau Wood in May of 2016 and May of 2018. In December 2018, he was promoted to his current rank of CWO4.
