Families and friends:

Thank you for being part of your Marine’s life as they serve this great nation.  Your Marine will be trained and educated on the combat skills required of a Marine Rifleman.  Several days after your Marine arrives to the battalion, you will receive a letter with information regarding graduation and other pertinent information.  Expect limited communication during their time here, as your Marine will be in a field environment and will not have access to their cell phone until the end of the training period. Thank you for your support.

Marines:

Congratulations on becoming a Marine.  Come to Marine Combat Training with the right attitude and be ready to train.  We will prepare you through a demanding 29-day program of instruction taught by the most experienced, professional, and knowledgeable Staff Non-commissioned Officers and Non-commissioned Officers the Marine Corps has to offer.  My Combat Instructors will train and educate you in the combat skills required of every Marine to fight and win our nation’s battles.  I am challenging you to learn as much as you can from your Combat Instructors during your short time here.  Our goal is to provide smart, well-trained, and tough Marine Riflemen, who can accomplish follow-on MOS training, to serve in the Operating Forces.

When you arrive, your Combat Instructors and I expect you to be morally, mentally, and physically prepared to train.  We expect you to devote yourself and focus on the training.  When you graduate, you will retain what you have learned and uphold the time honored traditions of our Marine Corps.

Welcome to Kilo Company.  I look forward to serving with you.

Semper Fidelis,

Captain Collins
