Colonel Seth E. Anderson

    

Colonel Seth E. Anderson is a native of California and graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a degree in Political Science. He was commissioned as a Marine Corps officer in April 1998. He has attended The Basic School, the Naval Intelligence Officer's Basic Course, the Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course, the MAGTF Intelligence Officer Course (Honor Graduate), the Operations and Tactics Instructor Course, the School of Advanced Warfighting (master's degree in Operational Studies), and the Army War College (master's degree in Strategic Studies). His command assignment was as the battalion commander for 1st Intelligence Battalion from 2015-2017.

His service in the Operating Forces and deployments include assignment as an Intelligence Officer at Third Marine Air Wing (June 1999-June 2002) during which he deployed to Kuwait to serve as an individual augment to Combined Joint Task Force-Kuwait (Jan 2000-May 2000) and deployed as the ACE S-2 with HMM-165, 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Dec 2001-June 2002). He returned to 3rd MAW as an individual augment from January-June 2003 to deploy in support of OIF I. He deployed to Iraq from November 2005 to November 2006 as an advisor to an Iraqi Army Battalion. He was Assistant Intelligence Officer for the 11th MEU from December 2006 to June 2008 during which time he supported Operation Sea Angel II, a humanitarian mission to assist Bangladesh. He was assigned as the Intelligence Department Head for the 2d Marine Expeditionary Brigade from June 2014 to June 2015. From January 2020
to June 2020 he deployed to Saudi Arabia to serve as the CENTCOM Forward-Kingdom of Saudi Arabia-J2 Director.

Other assignment include Intelligence Instructor at Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron-One (2002-2005). Intelligence Department Head at Marine Corps Tactics and Operations Group (2008-2010), Contingency Planner and then Chief of War Plans at Marine Corps Forces Central Command (2011-2014), and Partner Engagement Branch Head and then Intelligence-Operations Division Head at US CENTCOM (2018-present). He has been an adjunct faculty member for Marine Corps University since 2011.Other assignment include Intelligence Instructor at Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron-One (2002-2005). Intelligence Department Head at Marine Corps Tactics and Operations Group (2008-2010), Contingency Planner and then Chief of War Plans at Marine Corps Forces Central Command (2011-2014), and Partner Engagement Branch Head and then Intelligence-Operations Division Head at US CENTCOM (2018-present). He has been an adjunct faculty member for Marine Corps University since 2011.

His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Award with two Gold Stars, Navy Commendation Medal with Gold Star and V, the Humanitarian Service Medal, and the Combat Action Ribbon.
